How to use the Halloween EFL lesson
In the lesson, the students first brainstorm Halloween vocabulary to warm up, then they compete an ISE style reading. They complete 15 questions, as in the ISE exam. There are 5 paragraph-matching questions, 5 true statements to choose, and then 5 sentences to complete.
Following this, there are some discussion questions about students’ own experiences of Halloween and other festivals, followed by a Task 4 Extended writing style prompt.
